David Holt - an Introduction

David Holt Online

David Holt David Holt was born into a Liverpool shipping family in 1926. After a career in book and newspaper publishing, he trained at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, from 1961 to 1966. His dissertation was entitled ‘Persona and Actor’.

Back in England, he established a private practice both in London and Oxford. From 1971 to 1982, he taught and supervised at the Westminster Pastoral Foundation. From 1978 to 1991, he led the theatre and psychology weekends, entitled ‘Jung and Hermeneutics’, at Hawkwood College, Gloucester. He also served as the Chairman of the Analytical Psychology Club, and the Guild of Pastoral Psychology, both in London. In 1986 he became a founding member of the Oxford Psychotherapy Society.

He died at home in Oxford on Easter Sunday 2002.
